itsjaredc:
If you want to learn to code and build stuff and you’re starting by asking someone else what you should do, you’re already thinking about it the wrong way. Immediately, right now, with no preparation, in the blink of an eye, you can take a huge step toward your goal by realizing that you don’t…

Schmidt is viewed throughout Apple as a traitor, who perhaps used his knowledge of the iPhone, gleaned while then a member of Apple’s board himself, to give Google’s Android effort a leg up. There is a better chance of Apple choosing its next CEO through a raffle of ten golden tickets hidden inside iPad boxes distributed around the globe than that they’d give...

System builds: config management vs. imaging →
ntang:
Long story short: both, depending on the situation.
Good post, pragmatic and smart. And yes, it probably makes a lot of sense to start from a gold master that you then apply your config management and automation tools on top of.
I’m traditionally more of a supporter of configuration management than full system imaging, but I’m not at all opposed to using a system image to start your...

APIs
so between the drop.io api and the bit.ly api and maybe the dropbox api I have been trying to think of something cool I could create with the different services.

Bluetooth Headphones
Finally broke down and bought a pair of bluetooth headphones. I was getting so sick of having to deal with wires while I am working at work and talking on the iPhone though their handset is ok for a quick call but not really great for a longer call. Also my headphones that came with the iPhone always wear really quickly. The rubber around the edge that makes them comfortable always goes away on...

Now I will always prefer to think things out on a white board but for when I don’t have one a little notebook works out great and then I can take a picture of it with my iPhone (as...
